Who does what?

Sean Kennedy

Founder | Owner

Sean Kennedy is a graduate of Tufts University, where he received a degree in Economics prior to becoming involved full time in construction. With his beginnings in the field, Sean saw an opportunity to build a customer service focused business from the ground up. This sentiment is brought to every project as Sean works with his team of Project Managers and Skilled Craftsmen, making sure no detail is missed. Sean continues to lead his team in performing rehabilitation projects in Boston’s most desirable neighborhoods, while building relationships that further strengthen the foundation of Kennedy Design Build.

Scott Martino

Director of Operations

Scott Martino graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his time at Wentworth, he owned and operated a successful landscaping company on the South Shore. He utilized his management experience and his schooling as a Project Manager at one of New England’s largest mechanical contractors, where he was responsible for high profile projects from 50,000 to 20 million dollars. Scott provides direction and continuity for the Kennedy Team as they track and manage every aspect of their projects, utilizing leading construction management software. By developing standard operating procedures, Scott is able to provide the Kennedy Team with defined responsibilities and the tools they need to maintain accurate project costs.

Lisa Smalley

Office Manager

Lisa Smalley has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Bridgewater State University and manages all aspects of the company accounting. Lisa joined the team in 2012, having previously been a Client Accounts Coordinator for 5 years. Her attention to detail in Accounts Payable, Receivables and payroll allow the team to rest assured project accounting is always up to date and accurate.

Brian Lang

Outside Superintendent

Brian Lang is a licensed builder and has been in the industry for 17 years. Prior to coming on board with the Kennedy Team he owned and operated a residential construction company on the South Shore, performing projects of any scale. Communicating daily with the field Foreman and working alongside the Project Managers to recognize the specific needs of every project, Brian is able to utilize the skills of every craftsman. He constantly encourages the Team to perform to the best of their abilities. Optimizing manpower and each individuals’ skills allows for efficient project close out and minimal punchlist items.

Jim Kennedy

Job Coordinator

Jim Kennedy is a licensed and EPA certified builder who has been in the construction industry for 60 years. He owned and operated his own construction company for 40 years, in which time he worked on numerous residential and commercial projects throughout Boston. Jim returned to the industry after a brief retirement to work with the Kennedy Team and share his experience in all facets on our current projects.
